F . A . Q .

1.   I was in a car accident in Jacksonville.  Can you represent me and how much does it cost?

Answer:  There are several factors to consider when taking an auto accident case so a phone call or in-person consultation is a critical component in deciding whether or not we can take your case.  That consultation is completely free of charge.  If we do take your case then you owe us nothing until we recover for you.  This is called a "contingent" fee.  Our fees for auto accident cases are contingent upon winning a settlement or a verdict in court.  Anytime a case is taken on a contingent fee basis there must be a contract with the lawyer that spells out the percentage of the fees and other rights and obligations of the attorney and client.  You owe no fees to us unless we reach a settlement or obtain a verdict.

2.    My injuries are only soft-tissue injuries do I still have a case?

Answer:  Injuries to soft tissues are often more permanent and a longer healing process than injuries to bone.  Unlike a bone fracture soft tissue injuries are difficult if not impossible for the untrained eye to see.  Because of this your case is often dependent on medical expert opinions.  It is important to seek medical treatment as soon as you are aware that you are injured and then follow up on that treatment without allowing any gaps in treatment.  The injuries are not our only concern however.  Some body or some company must be responsible for causing those injuries.   A claim of negligence requires several elements one of which is damages or injuries.   Soft tissue injuries count as damages however there are 3 additional "elements" to a negligence claim and several defenses the insurance companies will use to try to escape fault.   Call me to discuss the particulars of your injuries and the circumstances.

3.   Can I talk to a lawyer when I call?

        Answer: Yes

4.   The guy who hit me ran and I don't know who it is.  Can I still recover for my injuries?

Answer: Possibly.  Such a situation, like all cases is fact dependent and you should call our office to discuss the particulars of your situation.  If you are insured in Florida you have access to up to $10,000 in PIP or personal injury protection coverage to cover medical bills, prescriptions and, unless excluded when you purchased insurance, a percentage of your lost wages.  In addition, if you have uninsured/under-insured motorist coverage you can recover damages including medical bills called special damages and for pain and suffering.  This if a very tricky area of auto wreck law and insurance law that you will need the guidance of a skilled attorney to negotiate successfully.

5. Has accepting Bitcoin worked for your firm?

Answer:  So far so good.  We'll keep you posted with more specifics as we have a decent sample of Bitcoin using clients.
